Our Passionate Parent Community
One of the most special things about KCS is our passionate community. Everyone here feels deeply connected to our school and each other. But it’s not just our students and teachers who have that connection – it’s also our parents, grandparents and families.
It starts with our open door approach. We encourage our families to come right inside the school so they can build relationships with our staff, faculty and, of course, other families. It doesn’t matter if you’re here every day or just a few times a year – everyone is made to feel welcome and valued.
Of course, one of the best ways to build a connection is by getting involved. But we all live busy lives, so our Parent Network goes out of the way to provide a huge range of volunteer experiences that can easily fit into anyone’s crowded schedule.
The list of volunteer opportunities is almost endless. Pizza Days, Welcome Back BBQ, class parents, Scientists in School, Bingo Night, field trips, Coffee Hour, open houses, gala events, Reason for the Season charity drive, Encouraging Dialogue speaker series, and it goes on and on and on. Even our Board of Directors is made up of volunteer parents.
This means that our Parent Network isn’t a small group run by a handful of families. Quite the opposite. It’s a wide-ranging and diverse group of well over a hundred parents who all contribute in their own unique ways.
So if you’re looking for a passionate and welcoming school community, come for a visit and ask any one of our families if they feel connected to KCS. We think you’ll like what they have to say.
