Learning Designed for You
Differentiated learning is one of those things everyone says they do, but it’s one of those things that we do right. Because while ‘one size fits all’ is fine when you’re buying a baseball cap, there’s no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to teaching and learning.
At KCS, we know that every student has their own strengths and challenges, so we treat every student as an individual. After all, when it comes to lifelong learning, everyone is on their own unique journey.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that everyone follows their own personalized curriculum. What it does mean is that we go the extra mile to help everyone find their own way to engage with the set provincial curriculum.
For example, we provide differentiated reading groups at almost all grade levels to ensure every child is given the right level of challenge and support. We also run differentiated math workshops, a flexible approach that allows us to provide individualized extension and remediation to our students. In all subjects, we adjust our expectations and teaching strategies, all in the name of inspiring each and every student.
At the heart of our approach is one simple idea – if you take the time to get to know a student, you’ll end up discovering how to best teach them. Because you can’t truly motivate or challenge a person unless you understand who they are. And that’s exactly what we do at KCS.
