KCS Cougars Have Heart!

KCS U13 boys showed a great deal of heart for basketball and helping out their community. The annual CAIS U13 boys’ National Basketball Tournament was held in Toronto from February 1 to 3 with KCS and Sterling Hall jointly hosting. Sixteen teams from across Canada descended upon our city to play three days of basketball.

We are pleased to report that the KCS team had their best showing yet at this tournament! After the first day of competition, they had a record of 3-0. This allowed them to play with the top eight teams in the tournament. On Friday, they played three more games and finished with one win and two losses. The final game of the day was a tight one, which they lost by only two points.

On the final day of the tournament, the team faced Lower Canada College and finished in 5th place out of 16 teams! The coaches are very proud of their efforts, persistence, great sportsmanship and positive attitudes at this national tournament!

After three long and exhausting days of playing basketball, the boys packed up all the leftover lunches and personally delivered them to a shelter in downtown Toronto. Giving back to the community was the perfect end to a wonderful tournament! We are very proud of every boy on the team. Congrats Cougars on a job well done!
