Championship Partnership: KCS and the Argos
The passionate community at KCS extends far beyond our four walls. We have a long history of building strong partnerships with many different local institutions, non-profit organizations and businesses.
One of our longest-running relationships is with the Toronto Argonauts. We first connected with them way back in 1993, when the Argos started using Humbertown Park as their practice field. Our students were ball boys and girls for the team, and the players were always happy to sign autographs and take photos with excited students. Over the next few years, a deep bond was formed between the football team and KCS.
That bond has held firm over the years, resulting in a partnership that has given our students access to a number of exciting and unique experiences. We know that many of the young singers in our Junior and Senior choirs will never forget the time they performed the national anthem at a packed Argos game!
Our students were also blown away when Argos linebacker Nakas Onyeka brought the legendary Grey Cup along with him on a visit to KCS. While the autographs and selfies were great, the real treat was hearing Nakas’ message of persistence and positivity.
These are only a few examples of the ways in which the Argos/KCS relationship has made a difference in the lives of our students. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
