Your Donation in Action

Donor Tribute

Your collective generosity has directly contributed to enhancing the learning experiences and facilities for both our current and future students. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey and for helping us shape the bright future of our students.

Below is the Annual Report where you will find a full list of Donors for the 2022-2023 school year.

This report recognizes those who have given to KCS, through time, talent, and financial support, which are all integral to the success of our continued growth. Our past and our future are because of the generosity of our donors, together with the vision and hard work of our community members.Derek Logan

Growing Entrepreneurship StEP by StEP

Health & Well-Being Resources & Initiative

You made play a priority and it shows at the renovated Humbertown Park.

With the launch of StEP, our student entrepreneur program, we're supporting our innovative young thinkers as they shape their ideas into reality. Read more about how your donations help encourage our student entrepreneurs.

High Resolves Global Citizens and Leaders Program

Thanks to funding from the Pickard/Bulger Citizenship Fund, KCS was the first school outside of Australia to offer this award-winning High Resolves program that helps build students' motivation, skills and confidence so that they may make a difference in their community. All grade 7 students participated in three workshops: Collective Identity, Independent Thinking, and Social Justice. All grade 8 students participated in a workshop called Better Self. In addition, we welcomed teachers, administrators, parents, boar members and social justice leaders from across the GTA to learn about High Resolves. We continue to test and pilot aspects of their program.

With the support of the Health & Well-Being Fund, KCS

  • purchased a variety of books that offer additonal support to students and parents who are asking for guidance and resources, as well as for faculty who are supporting the needs of their students,
  • obtained a stress-management 'Empowerment Project' workshop for grade 5 students,
  • purchased a variety of furniture and implements to support kinetic classrooms that encourage movement,
  • welcomed the Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program through assemblies, workshops and tailored messaging to help students influence positive change,
  • offered staff certification in Mental Health First Aid.

Bringing Outdoor Education to Students and Enriching Athletics

The Tevlin Fund for Sport and Outdoor Education continues to provide grade 6 to 8 students with the opportunity to start their school year at Norval Outdoor Education Centre as well as bringing outdoor education to the younger grades with day trips throughout the year. In partnership with The Sterling Hall School and with support from the Tevlin Fund, KCS successfully hosted the CISAA U13 Boys National Basketball Tournament at Hoop Dome and the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Over the three day tournament, the boys learned what it means to be a good host as well as a good sport.

Your support helped create:

  • two new playground structures designed with all our students in mind: one structure for older children and one for the youngest,

  • updated landscaping to create a tranquil green space in the heart of the Kingsway,

  • a walking loop surrounding the perimeter of the park as a dedicated jogging space and a marked route for KCS athletics teams to practice,

  • a drinking fountain to maintain hydration during athletic events,

  • a new irrigation system for the field so students can get outside and be active all year round, and

  • a whole new level of happiness for our students when playing outside!

Inspiring Creativity with the renovation of the Junior School Art Room

The collective support of the KCS Community enabled us to transform the Junior School Art Room into a space that will inspire student creativity for years to come.
