Yes! Kingsway College School is a not-for-profit organization and
provides the same tax incentive as donations to any other
registered charity in Canada. In Ontario you receive approximately a
20% tax credit on the first $200 and upwards of 40% on all greater
than $200. Your tax credit will be more significant with gifts of
securities or flow through shares. Tax receipts are emailed from our
Advancement office.
 

Each year, Canadians are eligible for charitable tax credits from both federal and provincial governments for any donations made to KCS in the previous year or unclaimed donations for the previous years. These credits can be used to obtain taxrefunds on taxes owed.

Currently, the federal rates for charitable tax credits are 15 per cent for the first $200 donated, and 29 per cent for donations over $200 if the annual taxable income is less than $200,000. For those with a taxable income greater than $200,000, donations over $200 may receive a proportion of their tax credits at 33 per cent with conditions. Additionally, in Ontario, donations up to $200 obtain tax credit rates of 5.05 per cent and 11.16 per cent for donations greater than $200.

Therefore, while there are several personal reasons to be generous and help expand what’s possible at KCS, the act of donating can offer significant benefits to taxpayers themselves. Instead of tax dollars going directly to the government, donors can invest in KCS!
