Environmental Stewardship

We teach our students to take responsibility for making the world better.

We haven’t done the best job of looking after our planet. Which means this generation of students is going to have to come up with some very creative and innovative solutions to a bunch of pretty big environmental problems.

To help our students understand the importance of environmental stewardship, we’ve incorporated sustainable thinking into many areas of our curriculum and daily life. We have a “Boomerang Lunch” policy, which helps students recognize their own environmental footprint. Every class recycles and reuses paper, and the school recycles bottles, cans, cellular phones, and batteries. Every year the whole school participates in environmental projects during Earth Week. And the importance of sustainability and responsibility are built into lessons across the curriculum.

At KCS, we teach our students to take responsibility for making the world better. And that includes looking after the health of our shared planet.
