The Magic of Musical Theatre
There’s something extraordinary about bringing a story to life on stage. From the first audition to the final curtain call, our school musicals are a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and courage.
Each year, KCS proudly presents a spectacular musical featuring students from Grades 1 to 8. At the end of February, Canada Hall is magically transformed—whether into a swamp for Shrek, an orphanage for Annie, an underwater world for The Little Mermaid, or the Land of Oz for The Wizard of Oz.
Students in Grades 4 to 8 are invited to audition for roles in the show, while those who prefer to stay behind the scenes can apply to be part of the stage crew. With our primary singers, cast members, and crew, over 100 students are involved in bringing the production to life each year.
We’re also grateful for the contributions of our KCS Senior School students, who support the show by designing tickets, assisting with props, and doing make-up on performance nights.
This is a truly special event in the KCS community—one you won’t want to miss!
Being in the musical was the highlight of the year for my child. Not only did they grow in confidence on stage, but they also made lasting friendships with students across grades. It was such a special experience!

Our talented Grade 4–8 students brought the magic of Shrek Jr. to life on the KCS stage. With unforgettable songs, hilarious performances, and dazzling sets—from Duloc to the swamp, this ogre-sized production was faaar from ordinary.
