The growth in maturity that happens in Grade 7 is truly astounding. As they evolve from kids into young adults, their higher level thinking skills kick in and they take their work to new heights.
They expand their ability to be critical and creative in their thinking, and then apply this new outlook to their studies. Their projects become more global. Their understanding of issues becomes more complex. Their desire to challenge themselves explodes. And their awareness of their own learning becomes deeper and more thoughtful.
It’s also a year where their sense of self is changing and their relationships with their peers are evolving. To help them navigate these potentially choppy waters, our teachers make it a priority to reach out and share their supportive and practical wisdom. Young adults need to learn a new set of manners and social skills, and we know that they can’t do it on their own.
After all, even though some of them are as tall as their teachers, they still need someone to look up to. So we’re there for them - setting an example and helping them find their way.
