SENIOR SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
This is a permanent position. KCS offers an excellent compensation package upon hire. Your anticipated start at KCS would be August 2023.
YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage as a collaborative, flexible, co-creator of a school experience that delivers extraordinary learning and growth
- Design and lead instruction
- Serve as a Faculty Advisor to a group of students over their four years of secondary school.
- As one of your dedicated teaching lines you will participate in the Advisor and KCS Path Program, supporting student-driven learning
- Lead and/or support a minimum of 2 clubs and teams per year.
- Participate in our KCS By Design student leadership program
- Assist with school-wide events
- Engage in ongoing professional learning, and share that learning to support achievement of the mission
- Work with the Head of Senior School and Assistant Head of Senior School to establish a community where all demonstrate the KCS Habits of Mind, Body and Action
- Work according to the standards in the KCS Habits of Mind, Body and Action
- Other duties as required
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
● Bachelor Degree in Science with a Bachelor of Education Degree in at least one of Chemistry, Physics or Biology.
● Extensive record of professional learning, both formal and informal
● School-based experience, including secondary school
● Strong in community-building, communication skills, critical thinking, initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail
● Enthusiasm for the KCS mission and vision, including how they are being realized in the Senior School.
● OCT qualifications are an asset.
● Experience outside the educational sector is also viewed as an asset.
